CENTER PHILOSOPHY
WILLING TO TAKE THE LEAP

We believe that traumatic and abusive events can have powerful influences on the individual and their families and the healing process is not easy.
Many survivors are often shamed or silenced in connection to their traumatic experiences and so they do not know how to express themselves in therapy and where to start. Many providers are uncomfortable to talk immediately, openly and directly about traumatic experiences for fear of upsetting their clients.
As trauma centered clinicians we prioritize making space for our clients to talk about their traumatic experiences so they do not have to suppress their feelings, wait for the right moment to bring it up or inadvertently take care of us in the therapy session.
We know that avoiding the feelings that arise when one remembers these events unfortunately only leads to more serious conditions such as depression, substance abuse, anxiety and emotional problems.
Our staff is trained to help the client deal with the original events immediately, in detail, openly and without shame to rapidly diminish their negative effects.
As a specialty clinic, our Center is interested in helping clients with more serious symptoms, more significant trauma, and when other treatments have not been effective.
TYPES OF TRAUMA
The Post Traumatic Stress Center is a private, specialty clinic for people of any age who have experienced trauma, abuse or neglect including sexual assault, domestic violence, childhood abuse, sudden death of loved ones, combat, sex trafficking, harmful discrimination, accidents, natural disasters, and stress among first responders such as healthcare, emergency, fire and police professionals.

OUR COMMITTMENT
The Co-Directors of the Center are committed to providing the best treatment to people who have suffered trauma, abuse, and neglect. We believe this can only be done by directly and courageously working through the details of the memories of these terrible events, and putting the past in perspective. Our experience has shown that this can almost always be done, and that the survivor can recover their life.
